  • Ulva Ferry Community Bus
    This community run minibus is fully wheelchair accessible and runs the request scheduled service 3 days a week. The route is from Calgary to Salen via Ulva Ferry.

Iona

Thousands of people come from all over the world to visit the Island of Iona, just off Mull. It is famed for being the ancient site of a Monastery founded by St. Columba. It was St. Columba and his monks who established Christianity in Northern Britan.

Iona is also famous for it's great beauty, slow pace of life and also the wildlife. One bird in particular draws people to Iona and that is the elusive Corncrake. Whilst the cries it makes can be heard from spring and thoughout the summer it is very hard to see, favouring tall undergrowth as its habitat. One can be lucky though...
